Our next problem says “If 0.005 mol of NaOH is added to 0.50 L of the buffer solution (0.24 M NH3 and 0.20 M NH4Cl), what is the resulting pH?”. After reading the problem we know that the first thing to do it’s finding the concentration of the NaOH that it’s 0.005 mol/0.50 L= 0.01 M and since sodium hydroxide is a strong base, that’s also our concentration of hydroxide ions, 0.01 M.
