Christmas in Japan!

Hello everyone!

This time we are beggining with this popular country from Asia. Even though this tradition it's from Christianity and most of Japan isn't Christian they have adapted Christmas in a Japanesse version. Something that they ussually do are the Christmas Illumination where public places create large decorations with lights. In this special day a weird thing that they do is having dinner in KFC and eting Christmas Cake ( a white cloying strawberry cake ) that you must eat that day or it will get spoiled! In this day the lovers go on dates and give presents to one another, it's almost a personal fail if you don't go on a date that day! tha's because it's more common for couples to be together that day and not with their families. They also have their own "Santa" and it's a Buddhist monk called Hotei-osho who is one of the seven godness of good luck who gives presents to nice childs (just like Santa) but in the past years Hotei it's been replaced by Santa Claus; there is even a enormous race called “Osaka Great Santa Run” in which each participant dresses up as Santa! A sad thing about Christmas in Japan it's that they have to work that day because only 2% of the population is Christian. Hope you liked this blog! Enjoying Christmas time! Sheryl.
