How do I watch/ read/ play everything?: Cannon Route

Hello everyone!

Now that you have read everything about the Fate universe I know that you are confused in how to get to know all these things or at least to understand this universe. First I'm going to give you the "cannon route" that for me would suit you to understand it clearly.

The first step would be playing the original visual novel Fate/ Stay Night but I know that there are some people that don't like this things or spending a lot of time playing so another alternative could be starting with the anime Fate/Stay Night (or you can read the manga), this because the story does a good job as an introduction and as it is a little bit old compared with the Ufotable work you won't feel disappointed when you watch it; I'm not saying that this version of the story is bad, actually it's my favorite one, but talking about the topics that are involved in this and the quality of the animation, it's very poor COMPARED with the Ufotable ones.

After watching or playing the Fate/ Stay Night story I would recommend you to watch the Fate/ Zero anime (or you can read the novel) so you will know the past of the three routes and you won't have any doubts about the UBW story. And talking about Unlimited Blade Works this would be the third step after watching Fate/ Zero, this is because it was made thinking that you would see Zero first, as this is the only adaptation of the story you HAVE to watch the anime. Then you could go and watch the Heaven's Feel movie that it's going to be on cinemas this month in U.S. (I think that it is already in the U.S. so here you have the link of the official cinemas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq2SGPOOIj0 ) hope that in other countries it's going to be available the next year and at the end you can go and play the visual novel of Fate/ Hollow Ataraxia (or you could read the manga) in this way you'll know everything about the canon route.

Other way to watch/read/ play it could be, if you want to guess what it's going to happen and have a little bit of mystery in the story you could watch the Stay Night anime (or read the manga), then the UBW anime, after that the Heaven's Feel movie, and Fate/ Zero, finishing with Hollow Ataraxia; in this way you aren't going to get bored because you'll have to pay all your attention in the details to guess what's going on, especially in UBW as it has things that takes as understood (because it is supposed that you watched Fate/ Zero first) it doesn't matter what you do because if you just watch/ read/ play this stories you are going to have everything understood about the canon route.
